Sylvia Vrethammar

Sylvia Vrethammar is a famous singer in Sweden with a career spanning for decades. Her success began back in 1969 when she released “Tycker om dej“.

Her most successfully released song was a cover of the popular song “Y Viva España” which sold over one million copies worldwide and earned her a gold disc. Her version of the song even reached #4 in the UK charts.

Among her impressive career she has twice attempted to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. She first entered Melodifestivalen in 2002 with the song “Hon är en annan nu”. 11 years on she returned once more to the contest in 2013 with the song “Trivialitet”. | Find out more about this artist and others like them at

Eurojury is the flagship broadcast of Showcase, celebrating the music of the Eurovision Song Contest with juries of up to 180 entertainment industry professionals. Rob Lilley has hosted the televised event since the fourth edition in 2016, succeeding Josh Dubovie and Linda Martin during the show's time as a radio broadcast. Eurojury is known for producing an accurate simulation of the results likely to be seen at the Eurovision Song Contest in May and is often used by bookmakers and broadcasters as a guide and prediction of the grand final result.

Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest

Sweden debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1958 and has gone on to be one of the contest’s most successful countries. The country has won the contest six times, the most recent being in 2015. Sweden’s first victory came in 1974 when ABBA won the contest in Brighton with “Waterloo”.
